WORKSPACE ACCESS

How to use your recovery key

Your recovery key is the private credential for managing your Opened.page workspace. The web app creates it in your browser. Your email address and document share links do not replace it.

Save the key when you create your first link

  1. After your document link is ready, find Save your recovery key below it.
  2. Select Copy recovery key or Download recovery key.
  3. Put the exact key in a private password manager or another secure backup. Treat a downloaded text file like a password.
  4. Check “I’ve saved this key somewhere safe” after you have a usable backup.

Already sharing documents in this browser? Open Workspace access, expand Show this workspace recovery key, and copy it before changing browsers or clearing browser data.

Restore on another browser or device

  1. Open opened.page in the browser where you want to manage the workspace.
  2. Go to Workspace access and expand Restore workspace with a recovery key. In the dashboard, choose Settings to reach the same controls.
  3. Paste the saved key into Private recovery key and select Restore access.
  4. Check that your document titles, plan, and activity appear in the dashboard. The same workspace is now available in this browser.

An unrecognized key leaves the current browser workspace unchanged. Check that you copied the full key without extra characters.

Switch between two workspaces

  1. In the current browser, expand Show this workspace recovery key and save a copy.
  2. Expand Restore workspace with a recovery key and enter the other workspace’s key.
  3. Confirm the switch. The other workspace becomes active in this browser. To return, restore with the key you saved in step 1.

Restoring a key changes which workspace this browser manages; it does not merge workspaces or move documents between them.
